Recollections of Spatial Communication

For an exhibition titled Conversations/Conversazioni, architect Carolina Vaccaro invited me to hold a visual dialogue with her recent work, Apartamento no. 9. Intrigued by the interdependency of light and geometry in the spatial intervention, I wanted to elaborate on this relationship from the perception of a three-dimensional space to a two-dimensional interplay of transparency and form. Through numerous iterations, the work also developed through aspects of time and memory, as I reflected on my experience living in Rome as a former student of Carolina’s ten years ago.
